National Qur’an Recitation Competition begins in Katsina

All arrangement has been concluded for the 32nd National Qur’anic Recitation Competition to be hosted by Katsina state government.

The chairman local organizing committee, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar stated this while briefing newsmen in Katsina.

According to him, prizes to be won include Hajj seats, tricycles, motorcycles, and cash.

Justice Abubakar, however, said the essence of the competition was to inculcate the “culture of quranic reading in people and promote the spread of Islam.

He said the various sub committees, including those on security, accommodation, feeding and logistics, have already been set up to ensure a hitch-free competition

He said about 256 participants from 32 states including FCT Abuja are expected to participate in the competition.

He explained that 125 male, 125 female are to compete in six categories within the period of 10 days.

Justice Musa Danladi further revealed that “After the competition, the winner will represent the country at the international level of the competition.

The chairman, however, stated that adequate security will be provided for the successful conduct of the competition.
