No fewer than 156 participants from 32 states and the FCT are to take part in the 32nd edition of the National Qur’anic Recitation Competition holding in Katsina from February 23 to March 3 this year, our sources revealed.
The chairman of the local organizing committee Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar disclosed this at the pre-competition media conference yesterday.
He said all arrangement have been put in place for a successful hosting of the event.
He said, the prizes to be won include Hajj seats, motorcycles, and various cash monies noting that the main essence is the participation and inculcating Qur’anic reading culture on the younger generations.’
He assured that the state government is adequately supporting the hosting of the events as so far over N119m has been spent adding that to get the total cost of the even shall be after the event as it commences’
