Katsina gov’t set to relocate historical ‘Yarkutungu Market’- official

The commissioner of commerce, tourism and industry Katsina state, Alhaji Abububar Yusuf has revealed that the relocation of Historical Yarkutungu Market will commence soon.

The commissioner made the revelation while reviewing the suggestions giving by advisory committee on the market relocation.

He advice people in Katsina metropolis and it environs to exercise patience toward proposed decision made by the state government.

He said the relocation is necessary considering the security threat to neighbouring health and education institutions as well as residential areas.

The committee has presented five options for the relocation which includes Katsina Dubai market, Katsina model market, Dajin way a, filin Sami and Katsina old stadium.

It could be recalled that the emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman set up the committee of the Yarkutungu Market relocation chaired by Alhaji Aliyu Balarabe Saulawa.
