‘The Chanji Boys’ Katsina United recorded yet another emphatic home win victory over FC IfeanyiUbah in an entertaining and action-packed encounter decided at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

Katsina United have now shot to fifth position on the back of this result with 13 points from nine games.

Goals from Eric Dufegha, Tasiu Lawal and Destiny Ashadi ensured Katsina United maintained their unbeaten run at home and secured all three points.

Katsina United took the game to their fearless opponents and dominated possession all through the first 45 minutes.

The first clear-cut chance of the game fell to Seka Pascal just five minutes into the game, the Ivorian connected well to a long ball forward but a rushing Chinedu Ajana could not allow him compose himself as his weak effort was easily saved by Yinka David.

Five minutes later, Eric Dufegha would then be freed on the right flank by Tasiu Lawal, but his strike from distance went miles away from the goal.

Destiny Ashadi’s brilliant free kick that could have put the hosts in front on 30th minutes was parried to safety by the goalkeeper of FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

Eric Dufegha would later brake the deadlock on 40th minutes with a textbook header after he rose highest to a teasing cross into the box by Joshua Agboola on the left flank to throw the fans in the stadium into wide jubilation.

FC IfeanyiUbah coach Ladan Bosso  was sent off the technical area after the referee discussed with the AR1 on 44th minutes.

Tasiu Lawal then doubled Katsina United advantage on 45th minutes after he connected well a lofty pass into FC IfeanyiUbah’s box by Usman Barau and volleyed the ball into the back of the net for Katsina United to go into the break with a two-goal advantage.

Dufegha could got his brace for the hosts just a minute into the second half but the referee blew for an infringement .

The visitors threw more men forward as they continued to search for goal, but it was counter-productive on 51st minutes, when Destiny Ashadi found the back of the net with a sublime effort to increase the hosts goal tally to three.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah fought back and came close on 75th minutes when Anakwe’s long-range strike was parried to safety by Yinka David

Katsina United would then enjoy possession until the referee blew the final whistle as the game ended 3 – 0 in favour of the home team.

Eric Dufegha was voted as man of the match by the pressmen in attendance.

Katsina United will next visit Jos to slug it out with Wikki Tourists in the NPFL matchday 10.
