Residents of Filin Polo Protests 5 Days of Power Outrage

The residents of filing polo community Katsina have embarked on a peaceful protest over the total power outage for 5days in the area.

The officer In-charge of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), Kofar Yandaka distribution unit, Malam Abdul-Hakeem Baba Barau, received the protesters.

Alhaji Kabir Maiunguwa, the ward head of the area who spoke on behalf of the protesters said the protest were aimed at showing grievance over the total power failure in the community despite the people pays electricity bill promptly.

He said, apart from paying electricity bill promptly, they also sponsored maintenance of electric transformers, which supplies power to the area.

Responding, the officer in-charge of the unit Malam Abdulhakim Barau revealed that the action is a directive from the PHCN’s management.

Barau, however, assured the protesters that the problem will be resolve soon.
