Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state, along with eight others has been named as the winner of the prestigious Zik Leadership Award for 2017.

According to the statement, Governor Masari and his Rivers state counterpart, Barrister Nyson Wike bag the Good Governance category of the Award to join the eminent company of former South African President, Nelson Mandela and former Ghana President, Jerry Rawlings, among other former African leaders who had won the award.
Announcing the names of the winners in Lagos today, the Chairman of the Award Committee, Professor Pat Utomi said the awardees were selected after a thorough and rigorous scrutiny of nominees, in an excercise which reflects the tradition of excellence with which the Annual Zik Award has come to be associated and identified with since it was established 24 years ago.
Date for the formal presentation of the awards will be announced in due course.
