The Katsina State’s ruling All Progressives Congress acting chairman, Alhaji Shittu S. Shittu has debunk the news going round that he narrowly escaped lynching by angry mobs at Muhammadu Buhari House as carried by some print and online media because of his speech during the courtesy visit of Alhaji Bature Masari to Governor Aminu Bello.

But when contacted by our reporter, Alhaji Shittu stated that the narration is far from the truth as he was never approached by any person after the event.

“Actually, I don’t know what they are talking about, what I knew was that after the event, the state Governor together with me and some top government officials went up to the Governor’s office.” He said.

He further stated that it was clear that what he was trying to say during his speech was misunderstood by some section of the delegate but that he was never trying to undermine the importance of the delegation to the APC.

It could be recalled that it was reported on Thursday that the Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Katsina State, Alhaji Shittu Shittu, yesterday, escaped lynching by youths and supporters of Alhaji Bature Masari, who defected to the party from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The event occurred at the Katsina State Government House, when Masari was on solidarity visit to the governor after his recent defection to the party.

Shitu was quoted to have said in his remarks that, “I did not know (Bature Umar) Masari very well; I knew you campaigned against us when we were in the struggle in 2015. I hope you have not come here to deceive us and then go away.”
