The Katsina office Department of Petroleum Resources DPR says it has so far sealed 13 filling stations from January 2018 to date across the state.
The controller of Katsina DPR office, Alhaji Muhammadu Aminu made the disclosure while inspecting filling stations allocated to the commodity in Daura.
According to him, the sealed filling stations were those found with various malpractices ranging from product diversion, price hike, and other related offenses.
He expressed optimism that the prevailing fuel scarcity problem would soon be address amicably.
The penalties apportioned to the erring filling station include sealing, fines, seizing of license among others.
Some of the filling station so far visited in Daura were found to have either diverted the commodity or failed to amount the number of liters allocated to them.
The DPR boss, however, gave 24hrs ultimatum to the filling station to update their record or face sanctions.
