Born in 1957, Arc. Ahmed Aminu Yar’adua attended Kayalwa Primary School Katsina,  Government Secondary School Zaria, Kcast Zaria, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nottingham University United Kingdom, Hassan Usman Polytechnic Katsina, Elbee Computer Training Institute Katsina and National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

Ahmed Aminu’s career started as Social Supervisor at Max Lax Nigeria Ltd Kaduna, Drawing pool Supervisor in Red Rocks Environmental Designers Nig. Ltd. Kaduna, Architect Grade 1 and Senior Architect in the defunct Kaduna State Ministry of Works Housing & Transport.  In 1987 when Katsina State was createdq, he was the Principal Architecct Katsina State Ministry of Works Housing & Transport and later Chief Architect at the same Ministry.

He was posted to Ministry of Education Katsina State as Project Manager and reposted back to Ministry of Works Katsina State as Chief Architect where he rose through ranks to become Assistant Director Building and Director Building respectively. He was appointed Permanent Secretary Special Duties, Governors Office Katsina State and was later transferred Ministry of Works Katsina State as Permanent Secretary.

In 2007 Ahmed was appointed Secretary to the Government of Katsina State a position he held before Late President Umar Yar’adua appointed. Him as Managing Director National Inland WaterWays, Lokoja, Kogi State.

After expiration of his tenure, he joined Federal Service as Director Office of the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Works Abuja,  where he successfully resigned from active service to actively participate in politics and contested for the Gubanatorial nomination under the Peoples’ Democratic Party ( PDP ) in 2015.
