Political defectors in Katsina are to be treated fairly, Governor Aminu Masari said at the weekend while receiving many of them in Funtua Senatorial Zone. Daily trust reports
Speaking at the rally, Masari said APC was built on fairness, equity and justice, saying these had remained its guiding principles and would continue to be upheld.
Among the defectors were a former Commissioner for Agriculture, Musa Adamu Funtua, a former Chairman of Funtua Local Government Area, Abdu Isah, ex-councillors and many others.
Masari said the decision of the defectors to join APC was a welcome development as it would increase and boost the party’s capabilities.
While assuring the defectors that the party would work with them to advance its course, Masari said his doors and that of the APC leadership would remain open for them to have a sense of belonging.
In separate remarks, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Shitu S. Shitu, and the Vice Chairman of APC in Funtua Zone, Alhaji Bala Abubakar Musawa, hailed the decision of the defectors to jump ship and assured them that they would not regret their action.
