MATCH DAY! Katsina United face tough test at Enugu Rangers at Home (Match Preview)

Katsina United, who are still basking in the euphoria of their 2 – 0 win over Enyimba at the weekend, will face another tough test when they face Enugu Rangers in an NPFL Week 4 clash on Wednesday.

The victory over Enyimba on Sunday will serve as a tonic needed by ‘The Chanji Boys’ to fight for their first away points of the season in Enugu against the former league champions.

Rangers, on the other hand, will come out with full confidence after picking their first three points of the season away from home last week with a slim 1-0 victory over Heartland in Owerri.

The victory over Heartland will serve as a morale booster for ‘The Flying Antelopes’ having lost their first two games of the season when they face Katsina United on Wednesday.

Coach Abdullahi Biffo spoke with and said he is confident his boys can upset Rangers at home.

“Yes, the spirit of the boys is very high and I believe with the shape and form they are now, they can beat any team, anywhere and any time provided that the officiating is fair and balanced,” he declared.

The former Abia Warriors tactician went further to disclose his target for the season.

“We have worked very hard during the pre-season and we have started reaping the dividends of the hard work as my boys are now playing good football,” he said.

“Our target is to pick one of the continental ticket and God’s willing, we will achieve that by the end of the season.”

Team News

Apart from Timothy Danladi, who is on national duty with the home-based Eagles in Morocco, every other player is available for selection.

Previous Meetings

Both teams met last season in the Nigeria Professional Football League and Katsina United won the first leg 1 – 0 via an early penalty by Timothy Danladi at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

Chibuzor Madu and Christian Madu avenged the defeat in the reverse fixture as Rangers ran away with a 2 – 1 victory at the Nnamdi Azikiwe St
