The state Chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has held a stakeholders meeting to set out modalities on how best to run local government areas in the state.
The meeting, chaired by the speaker of the state house of assembly, Hon. Abubakar Yahaya Kusada, was held at the Presidential Banquet hall of the Government house, was attended by party stakeholders from the three senatorial zones of the state.
In his welcome address, the chairman of the party, shiitu S. Shiitu explained that the meeting would deliberate on the outcomes of the committee set up by the state government on local government headed by the speaker of the state house of assembly.
Shiitu S. Shiitu noted that it was earlier resolved that a caretaker committee at the local level remains the suitable option to be adopted by the administration to effectively administer the affairs of governance at grassroots level.
The party chairman mentioned that the decision remains viable pending the conclusion of court case on the issue of local government administration.
