The chairman of Senate Committee on Police, Senator Abu Ibrahim has attributed the various attacks and killings in several parts of the country as seemingly being politicized stating that there is no particular ethnic nationality that is fueling the killings as it is being alleged in certain quarters.

To proffer solution for the insecurity, Senator Abu Ibrahim asked President Muhammadu Buhari to rapidly update the security apparatus to end the ceaseless killings in the nation.

The senator made the statement in an interview with journalist in Abuja.

He further stated that that the security agencies are not doing enough to protect lives and property of the citizenry.

Senator Ibrahim said both external and internal security should be strengthened to exercise professionalism and efficiency in their operations.

Speaking on recent herders clash in various part of the country, Senator Abu Ibrahim said the establishment of cattle colonies, grazing routes and ranching is the prerogative of the states and not a national policy to be implemented by the federal government.

His words “I think the issue of cattle colonies, grazing routes or ranching is at the discretion of states. States that believe in colonies will implement colonies, states that believe in ranches will implement it and states that believe in grazing routes should implement it.
