The Daura Senatorial Development Forum has called on elder statesmen in Katsina State to join hands in pressurising a former Minister of Defence, Murtala Shehu Yar’adua, to vie for the governorship of the state in 2019. Daily trust reports.
The forum, in a statement issued by its leaders, Bashir Abdullahi Buhari (Daura), Sani Saminu (Sandamu) and Kamil Isyaku (Zango), said they felt it was necessary to add its voice to the clamour by the likes of Katsina Peoples Forum and Karadua Coalition, who had thrown their weight behind his candidature.
“Yar’adua, having come from a reputable family, has all it takes to lead the state. Murtala has a solid background of philanthropy and service to humanity; what he had achieved in service is also commendable, we felt he stands to be the best for Katsina,” the statement said.
It could be recalled that earlier in November last year, another forum, Katsina Peoples Forum endorsed him after what they ‘carefully studied, met and discussed the situation of the state and country at large.
