Katsina Govt. Partners Indian company to construct $70 million irrigation dam

The Katsina State Government, in collaboration with an Indian company, will soon build a 70 million-U.S.- dollar irrigation dam in Gwagwaye, Faskari Local Government Area of the state.

Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu, the Managing Director of Katsina Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KATARDA), disclosed this on Thursday in Katsina.

Shehu additionally said that the Indian firm would bolster the endeavors of farmers in the state to develop wheat, rice, cotton, maize and groundnut with improved variety of seedlings.

He said that the Indian firm would likewise give tomato, onion and pepper seedlings for agriculturists in the state.

Shehu called on all the citizens of the state to support Gov. Aminu Masari’s administration so as to encourage it to provide more dividends of democracy for them.
