The Katsina State government has promised to provide infrastructures in the Rugu forest, in fulfillment of the terms of the Amnesty program for cattle rustlers.
The projects are aimed at providing education and healthcare for the residents of the forest, particularly the Fulani that repents from cattle rustling.
Contained in a statement signed by DG Katsina Media and publicity, Ibrahim Mu’azzam Abdullahi.
According to the release, the projects are part of 2018 budgets and measures are calculated at encouraging peace and harmonious coexistence in the nine local governments areas previously affected by the menace of cattle rustling.
The local government areas include Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Dutsinma, Kankara, Sabuwa, Faskari and Dandume.
Other social amenities that will be provided for the communities inside Rugu Forest encompass veterinary clinics, earth dams, feeder roads and agricultural extension services.
