Not fewer than 70 patients undergoing from cancer and kidney diseases are expected to benefit from the sum of 20m allocated by Katsina state government to support medical bills.
Commissioner of woman affairs Dr Badiyya Hassan mashi , revealed that in Funtua General Hospital while donating cheque to some beneficiaries. Dr said each cancer patient would have 200,000 thousands while kidney patient would get 150,000 thousand Naira. Daily trust reports.
Dr Badiyya said, the gesture covered seven old local government of the state where in each 10 patients diagnosed with critical cancer and kidney ailment.
The commissioner said, vulnerable and rural dwellers, particularly women and children were the target people during the third phase of the program.
The ministry assistance is restricted to health sector only, it could be recalled she empowered over 490 women with vocational skills to make them self dependent.
Earlier, the Medical Director, Funtua General Hospital, Dr Faruk Adamu Musa, stressed the need for the establishment women and child healthcare centre in the area to reduce cases of infant mortality.
