Business activities in Katsina, the capital of Katsina State, were incapacitated on Sunday as Muslims held rallies and parades on the streets and lanes in the festivity of the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
As early as 9am, Muslim faithful thronged the major roads and streets in the state capital, singing songs in honor of Prophet Mohammed.
The processions were held through Rafindadi, Kofa Kwaya, Polo Ground, Sabo line,Kofa Guga, Kofar Durbi and Kofar Marousa, among others.
Among Islamic groups and associations that participated in the rally were Annahadah First Aid Group, Ittihadul Umar First Aid G roup,Shehu Dahiru Usnan Bauchi Foundation, Yan Kafi group, Allah Taimaka Group and Falala Group.
Amid the parades, a few people rode on horses and camels while some rode on uncommonly composed vehicles, however, most of the members strolled along the streets.
Tents and coverings were additionally raised in a few areas along the routes where ladies, youths and the elderly sat and appreciated music blasting through open address systems.
