Katsina state government promises to mitigate fuel scarcity across the state.

In consideration with the current fuel scarcity, the state government held a meeting with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN and other stakeholders after which certain measures were taken to alleviate the difficulties being experienced in the state.

Henceforth, the Opening of filling stations has been adjusted to 07:00am and closing hours shifted to 07:00pm. In addition, the government vows to penalized anybody found guilty of closing filling stations while fuel is available.

This is contained in a press release sign by chief press secretary to SGS Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua.

Furthermore, the state government also prohibited all filling stations in the state to sell a litter of petroleum above the fixed price of the federal government, 145 per litter.

The state government also made it illegal for any filling station to be selling their product to black marketers in any container whatsoever illegal beside private and public vehicles.

In addition, the state government also set up a committee that will monitor the distribution of oil ,under leadership of Muhammad Lawal Aliyu to ensure everything is stabilize within short period of a time.

Moreover, the government urges wholesalers and the general public to be law abiding, as anyone found guilty will be seriously dealt with without no recourse to his or her status.
