The Katsina state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has announced that a new Family Support School is to be established in Funtua.
Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari was speaking when he received the leadership of Parents Teachers Association of Katsina Family Support School led by the chairman, Alhaji Salisu Isyaku at Government House, Katsina.
The Governor explained that a land had been made available on the western bye- pass in Funtua for the school.
Alhaji Aminu Masari explained that since similar schools existed in Katsina and Daura, it was only equitable to establish another one in Funtua.
The Governor said the present administration is looking into the possibility of establishing a board to run the schools, adding that the women affairs ministry was not established to run schools.
He said he was not comfortable to allow ministry of education to run the three family support schools and plans to send a bill to state house of assembly for the schools to be managed by an agency in collaboration with parents of students and pupils in the schools.
Earlier, the chairman of the PTA, Alhaji Salisu Isyaku commended the Governor for the upgrade and expansion of the schools.
Alhaji Salisu Isyaku recalled that for the seventeen years of the school established by late Colonel Chamah led-administration, no any other government did so much for the school than the APC led administration now.
