The sarkin Hatsi of the burnt Mashi town market in person of Alhaji Falalu Mashi has opened up to the actual cause of the fire outbreak that destroyed over 200 stalls on Friday.
The sarkin Hatsi of the market told the Governor of the state Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari that the fire outbreak started from an incinerator located east of the market when he inspected the market today to ascertain the level of the havoc the fire outbreak cause.
Alhaji Falalu Mashi explained that what aggravated the fire outbreak was the inability of fire servicemen to reach the burnt stalls easily, adding that makeshift market stalls were scattered leaving no access road in the market.
Alhaji Falalu explained that over two hundred market stalls were burnt by the inferno.
The sarkin Hatsi called for the redesigning of the market for motors to be going in and out of the market without let or hindrance.
While responding, the executive Governor of Katsina State Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has assured that with the support and cooperation from traders and the marketers, the state government would modernized the burnt Mashi town market for enhance business activities.
The Governor who was accompanied by the member representing Mashi in the state house of assembly, Alhaji Salisu Hamza Mashi and the special adviser to the Governor on international relations and investment, Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari was briefed by the sarkin Hatsin kasuwar Mashi, Alhaji Falalu Mashi.
Alhaji Aminu Masari directed the Head of local government, the District head and representatives of the management of the market to meet him at government house soonest to chart the way forward for the market.
