A four-man syndicate that allegedly steal motor vehicles theft in Katsina have been arrested and a manhunt for others has been launched. Daily Trust, reports.

Those apprehended are Shuaibu Mohd of Angwa village in Batagarawa LGA and Musa Ibrahim of Dabani village, Musawa LGA of Katsina State. They were arrested at Tudun Yanlihida quarters, Katsina State in possession of a motor vehicle suspected to be stolen.

Others are Kabiru Dan-Mulki aged 51yrs of Kofar-Kaura quarters, Katsina, and  Hamisu Ibrahim alias Thomas aged 28yrs of Farin Yaro quarters Katsina.

Parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Besen Gwana, said items recovered from the busted syndicate members by the police during search include a Volkswagen Golf wagon, three fabricated motor vehicle master keys, one motor vehicle plate number and nine pieces of rope.

One motor seat belt, three wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, some quantity of codeine syrup and the sum of N80,000, were also recovered from them, he said.

He said the suspects have confessed to being part of the syndicate that participated in several car thefts within Katsina metropolitan area, adding that as soon as investigations are concluded they will be charged to court.
