Katsina: Police arrests 3 UMYUK students over murder


The Katsina Police Command has arrested three undergraduates of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University suspected to have murdered one Abdulmalik Kabir in Malumfashi Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, who are all male comprises of two 300 level students and one 200 level student.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bensen Gwana, who paraded them before journalists on Friday in Katsina during a press briefing at the Police Headquarters, said, “The police arrested the three suspects when they attacked their victim and inflicted serious injuries on him which led to his death.

“The arrested persons caused grievous harm to their victim over an issue of girlfriend in the month of November 2017.

“The victim died in a hospital while receiving treatment.”
In the same vein, the Katsina State Police have also commenced an investigation into a free-for-all sex with a 17-year-old girl (names withheld) who is now 7 months pregnant.

Already two suspects including the girl’s stepfather, one Hassan Ibrahim aged 50, and a neighbor one Adamu Idris aged 60 from Unguwar Tasha village, Kafur LGA of Katsina have been arrested.

Although the girl admitted to being raped severally by her stepfather Ibrahim, however, Ibrahim told newsmen that he only did it once.
