The Katsina State’s councillors elected under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has debunked rumours going round that they defected to the ruling All Progressives Party, APC recently.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of the councillors Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim ‘Yantaba and made available to our reporter.

In the issued statement, the councillors’ Chairman said there is no iota of truth in the “rumours spread and sponsored by the Katrina state APC government that all of us have agreed to decamp to APC in order to get our money from them.”

He further stated that: ” With this I want to assure the general public that we are 361 in number and almost 311 of us met in our party headquarters on 18/11/2017 to affirm to PDP our loyalty and vehemently reject the offer by the government as to wait for the court judgement where we sought for a relief.”

Below is his issued statement as he posted on his Facebook wall, un edited:

NOTHING BUT LIES.

As the newly elected Chairman of the PDP councillors Forum, Katsina State, I hereby write to clear the rumours spread and sponsored by the Katrina state APC government that all of us have agreed to decamp to APC in order to get our money from them.

With this I want to assure the general public that we are 361 in number and almost 311 of us met in our party headquarters on 18/11/2017 to affirm to PDP our loyalty and vehemently reject the offer by the government as to wait for the court judgement where we we sought for a relief.

Therefore all information one might read or hear regarding this issue is nothing but fabrication.

Thank you all for the support and prayers.
