The Katsina state ministry of education has earmarks N9.5 billion for the execution of capital projects in 2018.
The commissioner for education professor Halimatussadiya Idris disclosed this while defending budget proposals before the state house of assembly committee on appropriation.
According to her, the first phase of schools expansion programs for 31 schools will gulf N2.3 million while N500 million was assigned for the procurement of science and home economic equipment.
She revealed that the payment of national examination fees will consume N500 million.
Prof. Sadiya further said N750 million was proposed for the provision of furniture for schools while N700 million for the instructional materials among other projects.
Earlier, the chairman of the education committee Bello Abdu Dan-Musa said the house is fully committed to assisting the government in developing education sector in the state.
