The Katsina state government has released backlog of promotion arrears of 1, 194 workers in the state.
While commending the state government for the gesture, the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Malam Habibu Bala said “The promotion arrears covered the period of four years, that is between 2013 and 2016.’’
He recognized the state government for making strides towards expelling dichotomy between university graduates and Higher National Diploma (HND) holders in the state civil service.
He said that the gesture would help support the morale of workers in the state.
Bala likewise commended the government for annulling tenure system by directors in the state government.
He depicted the restoration of 2,500 local government staff disengaged by the past administration of Gov. Ibrahim Shema as laudable and commendable.
