Katsina: Three Drug Dealers Bags 51 Months Imprisonment


The Federal High Court sitting in Katsina, on Wednesday sentence three men, Ibrahim Isyaku, 28, Haruna Shuaibu, 30 and Rabiu Jibril, 35 to jail for procession of illicit drugs.

Isyaku packed away 15 months detainment for unlawful ownership of cannabis sativa and psychotropic substances.

He was captured by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Jan. 17, on Katsina-Kaita street with 850 kilograms of Indian hemp and 221.8 grams of psychotropic substances.

Isyaku had conceded to the charge and asked for leniency, guaranteeing to be a first time wrongdoer.

Justice Babagana Ashigar in his judgment said that offense was culpable under Section 19 of the NDLEA Act.

He said that laboratory test had demonstrated that the items were cannabis sativa and psychotropic substances, which were conceded and set apart as shows under the watchful eye of the court.

Ashigar, along these lines, condemned Isyaku to 15 months detainment without alternative of fine.

The court likewise condemned Shuaibu to one year detainment for having 450 grams of tramodol in Katsina.

Shuaibu who conceded to the charge, asked the court mercy, saying he has a spouse, a matured mother and six youngsters.

The judge likewise condemned him to one year detainment without alternative of fine.

Once more, the court condemned Jibril, to two years detainment for conferring comparable offense.

Jibril was captured in Funtua on Oct. 7, with one kilogram of cannabis sativa and 15 grams of psychotropic substance.

After Jibril confessed to the charge, the judge condemned him to two years detainment without alternative of fine.
