The Katsina State PDP chairman, Salisu Majigiri, said the duo of Katsina ex-speaker Alhaji Ya’u Umar Gwajogwajo and Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua are still members of his party since the did not inform them of their exit as being speculated in the media these days.
According to him: “There are procedures for entering and exiting a political party and PDP is not in any way different.”
Majigiri also stated that anyone willing to exit the PDP is expected to return his membership card, stressing that the two people concerned were yet to do so.
It could be recalled that earlier we reported that all is set for the final arrangements of the defection of Katsina State former State House of Assembly, in person of Alhaji Umar Yau Gwajo-Gwajo, and the former commissioner for Agriculture under the past administration, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua from the oppositionPeoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Daily Trust reports.
It was also learnt that top APC government officials had been in constant touch with the duo over the possible defection which from all indications will happen soon.
A source confided in our sources that all arrangements were almost concluded to receive them after they had indicated interest to leave the PDP.
When contacted, both Gwajo-Gwajo and Funtua confirmed the ongoing high level talks. Gwajo-Gwajo, who said that he hadbeen contacted, added that they were working out terms of agreement.But Musa Adamu Funtua confirmed his defection to the APC, stating that all arrangements for the formal defection were in the final stage.
