Katsina State under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari stated that it will spend no less than three billion naira N3bn  during the phase II of the project.
This was stated by Deputy governor Alh Mannir Yakubu who represented Governor Aminu Bello Masari during the signing of memorandum of understanding MOU between the state government and the Federal government led by the minister of water resources involving over 15 billion naira.
According to him,  phase II involved the distribution of water from Zobe water works to Dutsinma and the neighboring local govt including Katsina.
The Deputy governor Alh Mannir Yakubu who represented Governor Aminu Bello Masari signed the mou on behalf of the state government while minister of water resources Engineer Suleiman Husseini Adamu signed on behalf of the federal government at zobe water treatment plant.
Speaking shortly after signing the minister, Governor Aminu Bello Masari expressed appreciation to the federal govt. for showing concern to complete the zobe water supply project stated since 1992.
The governor revealed that Katsina state govt has awarded contract for the rehabilitation of Ajiwa water works, malumfashi and daura.
His expressed optimism that the perennial water shortage being experience in the state will be thing of the past when the project is completed.
Earlier , the minister of water resources engineer Suleiman Hussein adamu disclosed that, the federal government has earmarked over twelve billions naira for the completion of zobe phase one water supply project.
Engineer Suleiman Hussein commended katsina state government for making concerted effort to make the partnership a reality
The minister noted that, no City in Nigeria is being provided with one hundred percent of water supply including abuja.
He said the federal government has declared State of emergency on Water supply and sanitation.
The minister reminded that Water is an economic commodity to be paid for.
The minister of water resources inspected Mashi, Dutsi, and Sabke water supply project.
