The crisis plaguing the Federal University Dutsin-ma has took another twist as the alleged suspended Vice Chancellor’s lawyer, Muhammad Mansur Aliyu charge the University’s Students’ Union Government’s Vice President II, Comrade Yusuf Umar Usman before the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone One Kano over what he called defamation of character.

It may be recalled that on Monday the 14th of August 2017, Barr. Muhammad Mansur Aliyu released a post on his Facebook timeline calling the attention of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi over what he stated as a report reaching him that “some unscrupulous lecturers at the Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) through their unlawful association have concluded a sinister and satanic plan to fail the majority of the indigenous students (students from katsina state) who were unprecedentedly and massively admitted into the university last year by the ‘suspended’ Vice Chancellor Professor Haruna Abdu Kaita. The aim of these lecturers is to portray our indigenous students as below average, unqualified to be admitted into the university ab-initio and put them under probation and their subsequent withdrawal from the university”.

He continued to say in another paragraph “The Acting Vice Chancellor should not sit as a stooge as he is being accused. As we already know the lecturers and the courses they teach the students, and we pray they should change their minds and award every indigenous student his real grade”. He concluded.

However, in a response through an open letter to the Barrister by the SUG Vice President II of the University, Comrade Yusuf Umar Usman on the 15th of August 2017  wrote on his Facebook timeline that “As a professional lawyer, it saddened me much on how you always fail to understand and differentiate between practical and practicum. Your earlier post was nowhere near the truth your utterances displayed how far and much you hate Federal University Dutsin-ma. Calling our lecturers as #unscrupulous is like calling us (the entire FUDMA students) crooked and dishonest. And this clearly indicates how unethical and dishonorable mind you have.

“This I have to say is just one of your ways to pull strings and misinformed the good people of Dutsin-ma in believing into your lies and hatred for Federal University Dutsin-ma.” Comrade Yusuf concluded.

But surprisingly, on Friday the 20th of August 2017 when Katsina Post searched through the posts made by both the Barrister and the Vice President; it learnt that the post of the Barrister was tampered with as against the initial one, where he called the Acting Vice Chancellor as a ‘stooge as he is being accused’ was edited and changed as ‘it should not sit as a stooge as it is being accused.’ And later on, the post was totally nowhere to be found on his timeline and the Facebook world generally. While that of the Vice President remain intact and unchanged as at the time of writing this report.

The whole case is now being investigated at the Police Zone One Headquarters, Kano State.

Efforts to reach Barrister Muhammad Mansur Aliyu by this reporter for his comments proves abortive as all his known mobile phones lines were not going as at the time of this report.
