Police Arrests Notorious Car Thief in Katsina


The Katsina state Police command says it has arrested a notorious suspect who specializes in carjacking.

According to DSP Gambo Isah, the suspect one Rahim Adebayo ‘m’ of Gusau, Zamfara state was intercepted in Katsina while trying to escape with stolen motor vehicle Toyota corolla, registration No. KW 171 GG, Chasis No.INXBR32E94Z15387.

During interrogation, the suspect revealed that he stole the car from House No. 54 on 24th Crescent, 2nd Avenue Gwarinfa, Abuja.

He said the Suspect is making useful statement and is assisting the police in our investigation.

In a related development,  Katsina state Police Command has succeeded and smashed syndicates of motorcycle snatchers that specialized in attacking innocent motorcycle riders and snatching away their motorcycles.

The suspects named Kabiru Salisu (BASAU), 25yrs of Gobarau Quarters Katsina  and Usman Ashiru aged 21yrs of  Alkalawa qrts, Daura, Katsina were arrested in possession of two motorcycles one Hajoue Ash in colour with Engine No. 152FMHXIF21949, Chasis No. CC6XCHE39000149 and Honda Kasea red in colour with engine No. 09004949.

DSP Gambo Isah, the Command spokesman, told KATSINA POST that during the course of police investigation suspects confessed to have snatched the motorcycles from Maradi in Niger Republic with others presently at large.

He said Investigation is ongoing with a view to arrest the rest of the offenders and recovery of more stolen motorcycles.
