Katsina @30: State’s pilgrims offer special prayer in Makkah

Katsina State pilgrims currently in Makkah, Saudi Arabia have conducted a special prayer session for peace, stability and development in Katsina State and Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prayer session was part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the creation of Katsina State.

Speaking at the prayer in Makkah on Saturday, Alhaji Salisu Ado Shinkafi, Chairman, Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, said that praying for the country and its leaders was necessary.

He said that it was in the light of this that the special prayer session was held while in the Holy land after the completion of the 2017 pilgrimage.

One of the clerics who led the prayer session, Sheikh Harisu Isa, prayed to Allah to give the country peace, stability and development.

 

Also, the Speaker, Katsina House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Yahya, thanked the Islamic Scholars for the prayers and urged them to continue to preach on the importance of praying for the success of the 2019 General Elections.

He also urged people of the state to continue to support the present administration to enable it provide the much needed infrastructural development in the country.
