Katsina: Masari begins backlog payment of 3 years arrears to Primary school teachers

No less than the sum total of N113 million has been approved by Katsina state government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari for the payment of three year’s promotion arrears for the state’s primary school teachers according to the the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Siyudi Hassan.

While speaking with newsmen,  Comrade Siyudi Hassan stated that no fewer than 13,000 teachers would benefit from the promotion arrears across the state.

He said, the arrears cover the period of three (3) years from 2013, 2014 and 2015, as already the disbursement had commenced from this month.
According to him: “By next month, all of the 13,000 teachers would received their promotion arrears and his will definitely boost the morale of the teachers,” he said.
He commended the government for the gesture and assured of the teachers commitment to redouble their efforts towards improving education in the state.

In another development, the Matazu Local Government chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has applauded the state governor Aminu Bello Masari for the payment of 3 years’ promotion arrears of primary school teachers in the state.

The branch chairman comrade Kabir Ibrahim Danzuru made the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Katsina.

According to Comrade Danzuru, the gesture will no doubt encourage, motivate the teachers for enhance productivity.

He revealed the plans by the union to open an office where complains of primary school teachers in the area will be entertained.
