The national chairman of the Nigeria Medical and Health Workers Union Katsina state chapter comrade Hussaini Hamisu Yanduna has urged the state government to first consider recruitment of casual staff serving at various local government areas in its subsequent recruitment exercise.
The chairman discloses this while briefing newsmen on the recent development from Katsina state government for approving the payment of CONHESS to some omitted health workers across the state.
He described the approval as welcome development on health sector, also commended the state government for the ongoing renovation exercise of general hospitals and other facilities at Katsina, Daura and Funtua.
He said “The union is designed to enhance working efficiency of medical workers and development of medical profession.”
According to him, the Union had played a vital role in fishing out undesired beneficiaries and the salaries of who died across the state adding that 186 retired staff were removed from the payroll.
He however advocated for harmonization of environmental health workers with community workers urged for more emphasis on environmental sanitation which according to him is the fundamental aspect of healthy community.
