The Katsina State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Rt Honourable Aminu Bello Masari has so far settled N512,386,750.17 (Five Hundred and Twelve Million, Three Hundred and Eighty Six Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira, Seventeen Kobo only) out of the over N1,024,773,500.34 left unpaid on foreign scholarship by the previous administration.

This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Higher Education Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi in his office while debunking mischievous insinuations that the Governor Masari led administration has cancelled all foreign scholarship programs initiated by the previous administration.

He further stated that the payment is in respect of all fees and allowances up to the year 2018, while the balance will be paid in the same year.

He added that the state government deserves commendation for achieving this feat at a time when other states have cancelled the scholarship programs and withdrew students from the countries they were hitherto undergoing studies.
