The Katsina state Executive Council fifth regular meeting presided over by HE Governor Aminu Bello Masari has approved the rural electrification of one community each in the 34 local governments of the state.

KATSINA POST learnt that this was disclosed to newsmen after the meeting in Muhammadu Buhari House by the commissioner of Local Governments and chieftaincy affairs Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmad Zakka.

According to him: “One town from each of the thirty four Local Government Areas of the State will be connected with electricity at a total cost of N1.9b.”

The Katsina state government is spending over 23 billion 659.7 million naira for the construction of roads and electricity projects across the state. The commissioner of works, Housing, and Transport, Engineer Tasi’u Musa Dandagoro announced this at the end of state executive council meeting held at government house council chambers, Katsina. Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro announced that the projects include the 26 kilometers kankara- Zango – Dansabau road and Mararrabar Musawa- Gingin-kurkujan – border with Kano state. Other road projects, he said include rehabilitation and upgrading of Mashi to Birnin kuka, construction of Rimaye – sukuntuni – Magam – karaduwa road and Dayi – Tuge – Gundawa-wawar kaza road. Engineer Tasi’u Dandagoro announced that another road was that of Yandaki-Gafiya-Abdallawa- Dankaba road, Sabke- Randa-Danaunai-Dutsi road and electrification of thirty four communities, one each from the 34 local councils in the state.
