Katsina state Commissioner of Health

Katsina state government has reiterated its stance to provide adequate healthcare facilities aimed to improve healthcare service delivery across the state.

This was disclosed by the state commissioner of health Dr. Mariyatu Bala Usman in a supportive supervision Tuesday, to Dr. Labaran Doro Comprehensive Maternal and child clinic Kofar Kaura Katsina.

The assessment supervision is part of “Saving One Million Lives Program (SOML)” in collaboration with the Katsina state Ministry of Health.

According her, Masari led-administration is committed to improving health-care facilities, renovating hospitals with a view to reduce maternal and child mortality in the state.

She said ‘’The state general hospitals are currently under renovation. Over 700 health personnel were employed under Masari’s administration, some 100 casual staff were also giving permanent offer by this administration in its 2years of inception.”

The commissioner called on masses to exercise more patience as the current state administration is working assiduously to achieve it set objectives.

Addressing the journalist, the commissioner expressed dismay over decay of infrastructural facilities and overdue casualization of staff in the state hospitals by previous administration.

The commissioner applauded the effort of the staff which according to her had rose to massive patronization of the hospital by patients outside the catchment area, urging them to intensify effort for effective delivery.

“I am really impressed by the exertion shown by the entire management and staff of this hospital, I urged them to keep the good work for effective service delivery.” She said

Dr. Mariyatu revealed that, more facilities will be provided to the hospital in line with Governor Masari’s agenda in restoring health sector in the state.

The objective of the Saving One Million Lives Initiative Program-for-Results (PforR) Project is to increase the utilization and quality of high impact reproductive, child health, and nutrition interventions initiated by world bank in collaboration with Katsina state ministry of health.
