Katsina state emergency management agency (SEMA) has distributed relief materials to the victims of flooding in Kaita Local Government Area.
The executive secretary of the agency Dr. Aminu Garba Waziri who made the distribution to the victims said the gesture is to ease the difficulties being faced by the victims.
The executive secretary explained that the current state administration is committed toward taking prompt action to assist people that are affected by any disaster across the state.
According to him, the agency distributed the items in other to ease the hardship they are encountering as a result of the loss of their properties.
Also speaking, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmed Zakka said the entire state government sympathized with the victims.
He assured readiness of the state government to expand drainages in the area to prevent further occurrence of the flooding in the area.
The commissioner noted that the federal government directed the acting president for the approval for the sum of N700bn to assist the victims affected by any disaster in the country.
SEMA donated N25, 000 to each of the affected victims also some of the items include 20 bags of rice, 50 bags of millet, matrasses, oil among others.
