Katsina Government To Build 10 New Schools For Fulani Communities

The Katsina State government is to construct 10 new schools in Fulani communities as part of an ongoing amnesty program to address cattle rustling and banditry in the state.

The Fulani repentant rustlers had demanded the provision of social amenities and infrastructures like schools, hospitals and dams as condition to renounce their acts.

Governor Aminu Masari who disclosed this during an interaction meeting in Runka village of Safana LGA, said government was committedto sustaining the relative peace being enjoyed from the program.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government and chairman of the program, Mustapha Inuwa, Masari said the Fulani communities should choose where such schools could be built and government would proceed immediately.

In his remarks, the National President of Miyetti Allah, Mohammed Kiiruwa, lauded the efforts of the state government and security agents for their efforts and commitment towardssustaining the gains of the amnesty program and called on all to key in for greater development.
