Katsina emirate council has announced the suspension of village head of Gingin in Jikamshi District in Musawa Local Government Area Alhaji Nasiru Bala Mangafi.
The suspension is contained in a press released by the secretary of the emirate Alhaji Bello Mannan Ifo which made available to newsmen in Katsina.
According to the released, the suspension is effected from the 6th July, 2017 pending to the conclusion of the investigation by the emirate.
Its being recalled that earlier May, Katsina Emirate Council suspended four village heads over their alleged involvement in selling of part of government reserved forest, the Rugu forest in Safana Local Government.
Those suspended include, Magaji Illelah, Adamu Aliyu, Magaji Muniya Hashimu Ahmad, Magaji Guzuruwa Ibrahim Aliyu and Magaji Madogara Isa Madogara.
Daily Trust reported that the secretary of the council and Sallaman Katsina Bello Ifo in a statement issued yesterday said the affected village heads have been suspended till an ongoing investigation on their role in the forest encroachment is determine.
It can be recalled that the state government has vowed to deal with anyone no matter how highly placed if found wanting on encroaching forest reserves especially as it affects the Rugu forest which an ongoing cattle rusting and banditry amnesty program revolved around.
