Breaking: EFCC asked to investigate Mustapha Inuwa over N1.6bn ‘missing money’
The Katsina State Chairman of the National Conscience Party (NPC) ant her gubernatorial candidate in the state during the last 2015 general election Abdulmumini Shehu Sani has asked EFCC to investigate the Katsina state Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa over the ‘missing N1.6bn’.
This was contained in a petition signed by the party chairman and addressed to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on the 17th of May, 2017.
The petition as seen by KATSINA POST was captioned: “Laundering of Public Funds By Secretary of the Government of Katsina State, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa to the Tune of N1.6 Billion on Cattle Rustling”.
In the petition, Abdulmumini Shehu Sani argued that there was no way the operation would have engulfed such huge amount of money as their preliminary investigations proved otherwise.
He stated that …”The amnesty was signed with some conditions, but later the Secretary to the State government announced that the sum of N1.6bn has been spent on this operation, it was after this announcement we swift into action and we found out that the number of security agents used in this operation could not swallow the sum of N1.6bn as said by Mustapha Inuwa and no single vehicle or weapon was bought during this operation, we have no problem of Boko Haram in Katsina.”
He then concluded that: “It is as a result of this that we would like your men to swift into action to investigate this matter.”
