The Katsina state governor has inspected the ongoing Mashigi dam dredging in Malumfashi local government Area.
The governor was conducted round by the permanent secretary state ministry of water resources Alhaji Sani Umar who informed him that the project involved raising of water spill way and it embedment.
According to Sani Umar, the dam will supply Malumfashi and Kankara local government area with 5500m3 liters of water upon completion.
In his remark, Governor Aminu Masari charged the construction firm to ensure quality job and keep to their stipulated time.
Meanwhile, The Katsina state govt has spent over N72 Million in procuring equipments to 49 science and technical schools in the state.
The state commissioner for education Prof. Halimatussadiyyya Ibrahim disclosed this at the distribution of the equipment to Dikko College Katsina.
According to her, the measure is aimed at preparing the students to face the challenges faced by the advancement of the science and technology in 21st century.
She also said the gesture will help the student to pursue science and engineering courses at tertiary institutions.
Earlier, the Director science and Technical Alhaji Tanimu Zubairu Ganuwa revealed that in 2017 academic year 30 secondary schools will benefit from science equipments covering chemistry, physics, biology and agricultural science.
The director also said twelve other schools will have home economic materials in addition to science equipment while the remaining secondary schools will be given technical equipment also in addition to science equipment.
