PROMISES FULFILED! Five (5) fulfilled promises by Governor Masari in 2 years

Today the 29th of May, 2017 marks exactly two years into the current APC led-administration in Katsina State under the stewardship of Governor Aminu Bello Masari.

A day like this is always use by many to reflect and dissect issues as regards to the political leadership, successes and failure of a particular government and asses it accordingly.

KATSINA POST as the leading and most visited online news media outlet in Katsina has carefully studied a list of 31 campaign promises made my Governor Masari while he was campaigning in 2015 and draw some five big promises that we believed he fulfilled two years down the line.

It is our hope that this will arouse public awareness and discussion among both the political actors in both the Government and the opposition and also with the electorates which will ultimately yield positive result for a better Katsina.

1. Ensure the security of lives and properties especially checking cattle rustling:

It is now safe to say cattle rustling has became history -so to say – in the state. Thanks to the giants efforts made by the state government over these years.

Before the coming of this administration, about 11 local governments are seriously being affected by cattle rustling. But the government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari this insecurity has been curtained and most of the criminals were arrested and rehabilitated and reintegrated back to their societies.

2. Local Content utilisation in contracts and inputs supply to contractors:

This is another promise fulfilled by this administration. From contractors to inputs supply, the Governor has made sure that only indigens and indigenous companies carry out contracts in the state.

This can be seen as evidence in the contracts for the renovation and upgrade of the major General Hospitals in the state which is being carried out by Bold Space Ltd which is being owned by Katsina indigens.

3. Strengthening and optimal utilisation of the civil servants:

It is evident that local governments in the state are over staffed with many redundant workers that does absolutely nothing but costs the state so much.

This government under the stewardship of Governor Masari had made sure it reversed that and has already transferred all local government workers with teaching qualification to schools for their optimal utilisation.

4. Special attention will be given to pensioners:

Since its inception, this government has made it clear that it is determined to clear all back logged of pensioners pension and gratuity arrears. So far, the government has cleared all that upto 2015 and promised to continue until everybody is settled.

5. Provision of more health personnel and equipments in the health facilities:

Recently towards the end of last year, the Katsina State government has employed over 500 health personnels ranging from Doctors, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Pharmacy and posted to various health facilities across the state aimed at improving health service delivery in the state.

Also, health Equipments were purchased and installed in some health facilities notably the new General Amadi Rimi Orthopaedic and Specialist Hospital where MRI and CT scan machines were recently installed.
