Workers Day: Katsina NLC praises Masari over prompt payment of salaries

Today, 1st May, 2017 Governor Masari of Katsina State was showered with praises from the Katsina State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over what it called ‘prompt payment of salaries of civil servants in the state’.

KATSINA POST gathered this when NLC Chairman in the state, Comrade Tanimu Lawal Saulawa was speaking during a rally to commemorate the day. He also used the occasion to score the Bello Masari-led state government high for its achievements in two years in office, noting that government has performed well especially in the health and education sectors.

According to Saulawa, “the congress wishes to appreciate the commitment, bold and courageous policies of His Excellency especially in the prompt payment of salaries to workers and there is no doubt that the administration’s approach to the general welfare of civil servants is immeasurable and indeed commendable.

“We note with appreciation the payment of pension and other retirement benefits to our senior citizens in the state and further wish to intimate you that there are still more retirees who have not been paid in spite of having been screened and verified.

“The delay in payment is inflicting more hardship on these retired officers who put in their best in the development of our dear state.
