We stopped imposition of candidate on electorates- Katsina PDP chairman declares
The Katsina state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday announced that it has stopped imposing candidates on the electorate or party members.
This is according to Salisu Majigiri, the state PDP chairman.
“We have met and discussed the issue of imposing candidates on our members and we realised that our people do not like the idea.
“We have resolved to do away with it and henceforth encourage democratic ways of electing our contestants.
“We have learnt our lesson in the 2015 elections and we are ready to go back to the normal way of selecting candidates through the primaries.
“We are now ready to provide a level playing ground to all our candidates, so as to strengthen the party and move it forward,” he said.
