Katsina Central Police Station gutted by a late night ‘fire’
The Central Police Station (CPS) in Katsina has been gutted by a late night fire during the last weekend.
The fire started at about 9.30pm Saturday night and mostly affected the tailoring section of the station.
An eye witnesses informed newsmen that policemen cordoned off the area and diverted traffic while they fought to put out the fire.
KATSINA POST learnt that the command’s spokesman DSP Isa Gambo said the fire was the result of power surge, and 13 sewing machines were lost.
However, he said “No ammunition or weapon nor suspects on detention were affected,’ he said.
“It was a spark when power was restored to the area, it was not an attack on the station.”
