The chairman said all the projects were executed across the 34 Local Government Areas of the state in the board’s resolve to turn around the sector.

He said the board had also provided 15,162 metal furniture tables were provided along with 893 metal chairs, adding that 1,176 and 2,352 plastic chairs were provided while 1,500 additional primary school teachers would be recruited soon.

Buhari noted that 10,000 additional teachers are needed in primary schools as pupils enrolment has increased by about 89 per cent.

According to him, the board is giving free education to the girl-child in the state.

He said the current government had earmarked a “reasonable” percentage of the 2017 budget to the education sector.

The chairman stressed that the main cardinal objectives of the state government were prudence and accountability in public expenditure.
