Katsina: Committee set-up to investigate N138m massive corruption in ‘computer supply’
The executive Chairman of the Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Alhaji Lawal Buhari Daura has constituted a seven-man committee to investigate the shoddy deal in the purchase and distribution of computers facilities to the 34 local government areas education authorities across the state.
The committee is to be chaired by the permanent member of the board Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Batsari. The SUBEB chairman also directed all the local government heads of the board to returned all computers they earlier received to their local government headquarters for proper investigations by the committee.
The committee is given 7-days to submit its report as the SUBEB chairman also promised to punish anybody found wanting in the scandal.
KATSINA POST investigation found out that there was an allegation of massive corruption and breach of public trust in the contract to the tune of N138million of the supply of computers earlier on.
It was alleged that old computers were packaged in new cartoons and sealed which were presented as new computers.
