Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has renovated over 920 schools since 2015 as part of the programme aimed at motivating students to excel in their academics and improving their learning environment.

Making the disclosure in Katsina during a ‘thank – you’ – visit by Kankara community led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Kankara local government area, Alhaji Badamasi Pauwa, Governor Masari said a number of new schools have also been built by his administration.

He further revealed that 11 consultants had been engaged by the government for Katsina, Daura and Funtua General Hospitals to enhance the capacity of over 500 personnel recently recruited by the government for health facilities across the state.

Masari said the present administration’s investment in public education and health through infrastructural development and capacity building among others viable projects was firmly rooted in the restoration agenda of his administration, adding that he would address some of the requests of the community through a special rural development programme.

The governor also commended programmes and policies of President Muhammadu Buhari administration aimed at repositioning the nation’s economic base through agriculture dependent economy, while soliciting prayers for Buhari’s health and his safe return to the country.

In his remarks, Alhaji Badamasi Pauwa paid glowing tributes to the governor for the return of peace in their area and beyond as all farmers and herdsmen in hitherto cattle rustlers’ prone communities now go about their business without hindrance.

Pauwa however called for the government’s intervention to improve on some road and other amenities for the socio-economic wellbeing of Kankara people.
