Sixteen people have been killed in two ghastly road crashes involving three cars in Katsina. Daily Trust reports that the accidents took place at Mani and Kankia local governments.
The state sector commander of Federal Road Safety Commission Abdu Bagadawa, who confirmed the accident, said the corpses have been deposited at Mani and Kankia general hospitals respectively.
On the Kankia accident, Bagadawa said 7 died as a result of wrong overtaking involving a Golf car with registration KMC 650 AA and Sharon bus with RRN 312 XA.
For the Mani, a Toyota hummer bus conveying 18lost control while at top speed at a sharp bend. Nine people were killed.
